Product description
The importance of clean water
Maintaining your espresso machine might not look as impressive as tamping, weighing or dialing in, but it’s just as important for the taste and quality of your espresso.
A key part of proper maintenance is keeping your machine free from limescale. You do this by descaling every three months and using a water filter in between.
If you use tap water, a water filter is highly recommended. Limescale affects both the flavour of your espresso and, over time, the condition of your machine.
That’s why a good water filter is a true barista essential for us.
All the benefits at a glance
Our water filter bags are much more affordable than branded filters from espresso machine manufacturers, while being just as effective.
Our water filter bags offer:
- Easy limescale protection – simple and hassle-free
- Certified quality with 4 certifications
- Up to 3 months of use per bag
- Longer machine lifespan
When should you replace your espresso machine water filter?
A water filter that is used for too long becomes less effective and can retain bacteria. That’s why replacing it on time is important.
How often you should replace your water filter depends on a few factors. Go through the steps below to determine the lifespan of your water filter:
1. How often do you use your machine?
0–2 times per day = 1 point
3–5 times per day = 2 points
6+ times per day = 3 points
2. How hard is your water?
Soft or medium water = 0 points
Hard water = 1 point
3. Do you also use extra water for americano or tea?
No = 0 points
Yes = 1 point
Result
1 point → replace after 3 months
2–3 points → replace after 2 months
4–5 points → replace after 1 month

Our Barista-Essentials water filter pouces are suitable for all espresso machines with a water tank, including machines from De’Longhi, Sage, Solis and many others.
Does your machine use a direct water connection? Then our spout-style water filter is the right choice.
